Safety Tips to Keep Your Building Safe

Updated: Oct 1, 2020

As many people are facing hard times during Covid-19, our city has seen an uptick in crime lately. It is everyone's shared responsibility to work together to prevent crime within the building. Here are a few tips on how you can help keep your building safe.

Follow these tips to prevent theft & keep your valuables safe.

1) Don't hold or open the door for strangers.

We have a key fob system at the entrances for security purposes. It is up to everyone to NOT allow anyone to follow them in the building. If they belong in the building they have their own way to access the building without you letting them in. The security is only good as the people that live in the building so let's all work together to make it a safe place.

2) Don't leave valuable items in your vehicle & practice caution.

Do not let anyone follow you into the parkade and report anyone who seems suspicious.

Don't leave anything of value in your vehicle. Valuable items left in cars are the number one target for thieves in apartment buildings.

Never leave any of the following on display in your car, as they are all particularly attractive to car thieves:

- Cell phones, laptops, tablets (or any other type of easy to sell electronics)
